Worked example
A Worked Creator Quote: From Production Hours to Usage Rights
Follow a transparent, hypothetical quote from the initial brief through production cost, licensing, revisions, and final package presentation.
This is a fully worked, hypothetical quote review. The names, company, audience metrics, scope, hours, and prices are fictional. The purpose is to expose each decision and show how a changed request affects one part of a quote instead of producing a mysterious total.
Incoming request
“We need a TikTok-style product video for launch next month. Please include posting, paid usage, raw footage, and two revisions. Budget is flexible.”
The request is not ready to price. “TikTok-style” does not identify the publishing account, paid media platforms, territory, term, files, start date, or permitted editing. The creator sends a written intake before calculating.
Clarified scope
- One 25–35 second vertical product demonstration, delivered as a clean and captioned export.
- One post on the creator’s TikTok account, scheduled within an agreed seven-day window.
- Brand may run the approved captioned export as paid social on TikTok in the United States for 60 days from first use.
- Resizing and subtitles are permitted; new hooks, claim changes, raw footage, other platforms, and sublicensing are excluded.
- One concept review and one consolidated rough-cut revision are included.
Private calculation
| Decision row | Hypothetical rationale | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Production | Concept, filming, editing, exports, project handling | $1,100 |
| Creator publication | One TikTok post and sponsored inventory | $450 |
| Paid usage | Named asset, TikTok, US, 60 days | $600 |
| Package total | Before tax and excluded requests | $2,150 |
No amount in this example is a recommended rate. The creator’s actual cost, demand, audience fit, experience, and licensing decision must replace the fictional assumptions.
Client-facing quote
Launch demonstration package — $2,150 USD. Includes one 25–35 second vertical video, clean and captioned exports, one TikTok publication, one concept review, and one consolidated rough-cut revision. Includes 60 days of paid TikTok usage in the United States from first use, limited to the approved captioned export. Quote valid 14 days. Fifty percent books production; balance is due on approved final delivery.
Not included: raw footage, additional hooks, reshoots caused by changed direction, creator-handle advertising, other platforms, sublicensing, exclusivity, travel, and claim changes after approval.
Change-order drill
If the brand later adds Instagram paid media, the license row changes. If it requests raw footage and editing rights, both the delivered asset and transformation permission change. If it moves the deadline forward by a week, the creator reviews production availability and rush cost. None of these changes should be hidden inside “two revisions.”

Source and verification note
This case was created by Ratefolio as a transparent document-structure exercise; it is not a client result or market survey. Platform permission details must be checked against current TikTok advertising documentation, and final license language against the signed agreement. Last editorial review: launch edition.
