License checklist

Production and distribution are different purchases

Identify the asset and accounts

Name the approved files, the account owner, each platform, and the territory. Permission for one brand account does not automatically cover retailers, regional accounts, agencies, or email campaigns.

Use a clear start and end trigger

“Ninety days from first paid use” is more precise than “three months” when the launch date is unknown. State how renewal is requested and what happens when the term expires.

Treat perpetual use as a separate decision

A perpetual license removes a future renewal point. Both parties should understand the media, editing permission, identity risk, and opportunity cost before agreeing to an unlimited term.
